“He? It’s a ‘he?’”

“According to the prompt.”

“Yeah, but…” I kept squinting at the image, trying to make out what I was looking at.

My Imaginary Writing Muse sighed. MIWM sighs a lot where I’m concerned.

“Seriously, what are those two black things? Sticks? And two green dots. Why dots? Looks like pretty gold cloth, though. And logs…Wait. logs?”

If you would, One,” MIWM said in a thinly veiled impatient tone, “stop navigating the internet from your teeny-tiny phone, and Two, stop trying to look at anything before you are actually awake and have your glasses on…”

I stubbornly did not budge from my warm, snug spot in bed, but kept on trying to decipher the image, closing one eye and then the other. Finally, I scrolled down and clicked on one of the stories.

“Why did they write about a cat and dog? Where’s the dog?”

For Mondays Finish the Story prompt: Use the picture and the first line, “He thought he found the perfect hiding spot.”
